Innovation-to-Commercialisation of University Research (ICURe)

ICURe is Queen's University's flagship commercialisation programme, backed by Innovate UK, helping researchers validate market demand, de-risk innovation and accelerate the journey from research to commercial impact. Through funding, customer discovery and expert support, participants build the skills, evidence and confidence needed to attract investment, forge industry partnerships and create successful spin-out companies.

Programme Portfolio

Alongside ICURe and WE Innovate, our programmes and initiatives provide tailored support for researchers, students, entrepreneurs and businesses. Together, they foster innovation, strengthen entrepreneurial capability and accelerate the translation of ideas into real-world impact.

They include:

• Lab45 - Intensive support for deep-tech ventures on the path to investment and market readiness.



• InQUBate - Building entrepreneurial talent and student-led ventures at Queen’s.



• All-Island Innovation Programmes - Connecting leaders across Ireland to strengthen innovation capacity.



• Techstars Belfast – A Start-up Community Partnership with Ormeau Labs, connecting founders to world-class mentorship, global networks and opportunities to build and scale ambitious ventures.



• The Ideation Society - A vibrant community fostering early-stage ideas and creative collaboration.



• Future Leaders Fellowship - Empowering outstanding researchers to become innovation leaders of the future.
